Speak Out: Should Lawmakers Have a Shorter Legislative Session?
The House has passed a bill that would shorten its legislative session but faces opposition in the Senate.

work session would end on the first Thursday in May rather than the first Thursday in June.
Supporters of the bill say it would save taxpayers about $400,000 a year and allow lawmakers to spend more time in their communities.
The bill has to pass the Senate before going to the voters in November 2014.
