St. Francis of Assisi Hosts Newberry College's Madrigal Singers During Holy Week

The Holy Week observance includes the Madrigal Singers, a healing service, Seder meal and more.

In observance of Holy Week, St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Chapin has planned several events starting Wednesday. See the release below.

St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church has a full week of activities planned for Holy Week, including its annual tradition of hosting the Newberry College Madrigal Singers for the Maundy Thursday service, which will be held on March 28 at 7:30 pm.

The Newberry College Madrigals is a small vocal ensemble that is well-known for its high-level performances of choral chamber works that range from the Middle Ages through the 21st Century, including standards of vocal jazz. This talented group of young men and women has performed at St. Francis for the past seven years, and parishioners and community members alike have enjoyed their performance as part of this solemn service which includes foot washing and Holy Eucharist. The service itself follows a Seder meal which begins at 6:00 pm in the parish hall, with participants eating together and sharing stories of the Passover.
