Town of Irmo Considers Hospitality Tax
Council is set to vote on the tax at its meeting Tuesday.

Eating at a restaurant in Irmo may get a little more expensive.
Irmo Town Council will discuss adding a local hospitality tax on the sale of prepared meals and beverages. Council members are set to vote on the first reading of the ordinance at their Tuesday meeting.
Town council will also:
- make a decision on the suggested name for the new town park: Memorial Park
- discuss alternate locations for the Okra Strut Festival since work on the new town park has been delayed due to rain
- vote on a budget amendment in the amount of $26,000 for the Okra Strut Entertainment in conjunction with the festival's 40th anniversary
- vote on the third and final reading of an ordinance to annex property at 1125 Salem Church Road
