2 Men Charged with Breaking into Leesville Homeowner's Workshop
The homeowner caught the two men Monday and held them until deputies arrived.
A Lexington County homeowner caught two men breaking into his home workshop Monday and held them at gunpoint until deputies arrived, according to the Lexingotn County Sheriff's Department.Â
Christopher Alan Morgan, 18, of Gilbert and James William Whitten II, 26, of Leesville are each charged with second-degree burglary.Â
Deputies say the two men broke into a workshop outside a home on Sandpit Road around between 9 and 11:30 p.m. and stole an air compressor and drill bits.

Whitten, who was armed with a knife and a hammer, broke a glass panel on the workshop door, according to the sheriff's department. He also broke a window on the back door of the house in an attempt to get into the house.
The 69-year-old man who owns the home and another man found Morgan and Whitten near the property after the break-in at the workshop, according to the sheriff's department. They detained the men at gunpoint until deputies arrived.Â

The homeowner also recovered the stolen air compressor and the drill bits, according to the sheriff's department.
Morgan and Whitten are being held at the Alvin S. Glen Detention Center awaiting bond hearings.
