Residents highlighted problems like poor visibility, crumbling shoulders, and missing sidewalks or bike lanes, with many concerns near Lexington High School and other schools. Planned fixes could reshape how you walk, bike, and drive locally through 2040.
   

3. Lake Murray homeowner blames new development for causing trees to fall on house (thestate.com) — A Lake Murray-area homeowner in Night Harbor says new houses built uphill are sending heavy stormwater onto her Lexington County property, toppling trees and twice damaging her home. She’s spent thousands on repairs, disputes the county’s finding that construction isn’t to blame, and is still searching for help before more trees fall. Lancers Set 2026 Men's Tennis Schedule (longwoodlancers.com) — Mark your calendars, tennis fans: the 2026 Big South men’s championship is scheduled for April 16–18 at the Lexington County Tennis Complex right here in Lexington. Longwood University’s Lancers will be among the teams competing, bringing several days of Division I tennis and visiting fans to local courts, hotels, and restaurants.
