Obituary: Obutus Redmond Cromer

LEXINGTON - Funeral services for Obutus Redmond Cromer, 89, of Lexington, will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Reverend Timothy Bupp. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Cromer's honor, to Zion Lutheran Church, 226 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072.

Mrs. Cromer, beloved wife of the late Julian Daniel Cromer, Jr., passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013. Born in West Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Cossie Newton Redmond and Ora Lynch Redmond. She was a charter member of Westside Baptist Church and a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was active in many church activities. She worked as a secretary for Cromer's P-nuts. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her daughter, Dianne Richardson (Charles) of Lexington; son, Barry Cromer (Bonnie) of Lexington; grandchildren, Andrew Richardson of Savannah, GA, Elizabeth Bruce (Travis) of Colorado Springs, CO, Josh Cromer (Anne) of Lexington and Becca Cromer of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Dean and Astrid Bruce, Kate and Steinway Cromer; sister-in-law, Jane Langston of Lexington, two brothers-in-law,Walter Shumpert and Rev. Harvey Johnson both of West Columbia, and special nieces and nephews.
