Batesburg Man Charged in Home Burglary
Deputies say Joseph Ryan Morin Sevrie, 21, stole from a house in Summit.

Lexington County deputies arrested a Batesburg man Wednesday after they say he stole electronics, a gun and jewelry from a home on Reedy O. Smith Road in Summit.Â
Joseph Ryan Morin Sevrie, 21, of West Columbia Avenue is charged with first-degree burglary, possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, simple possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and unlawfully carrying a firearm.
Sevrie entered the home Tuesday through a window at the front of the house that was left unlocked, according to arrest warrants from the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.

Sevrie stole a Sony Cybershot digital camera, jewelry that belonged to a woman, an Acer notebook computer and a Kurz AMT Backup .380-caliber handgun, Metts said. The homeowners reported the burglary to the sheriff's department around 8:17 p.m. Tuesday.Â
A deputy saw Sevrie around 12 a.m. Wednesday staggering around in the road near the intersection of Two Notch Road and South Lake Drive, according to the sheriff's department. A moped was lying on the side of the road.

The deputy saw that Sevrie was carrying an Acer notebook computer that he later determined had been stolen from the home on Reedy O. Smith Road, according to the sheriff's department. After Sevrie was arrested, deputies also discovered that Sevrie had the gun and jewelry that was reported stolen.Â
Deputies say Sevrie also had a plastic bag with marijuana and another bag with methamphetamines and Xanax.Â

A circuit judge has to conduct a bond hearing for Sevrie in general sessions court because first-degree burglary carries a punishment of life in prison. The 11th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office has not yet scheduled a bond hearing for Sevrie.
