Coroner: Otis Spunkmeyer Employee Dies in Plant Accident
A Columbia woman who worked at the Otis Spunkmeyer plant in West Columbia died Wednesday in an accident.

An Otis Spunkmeyer employee died in an accident at the West Columbia plant Wednesday, the Lexington County Coroner's Office announced Thursday.Â
Susan C. Henley, 47, of Columbia, had entered the loading dock to unload a truck, and was found beneath the loading dock plate, Coroner Harry O. Harman said in a news release.Â
The accident happened around 11:28 p.m. on Wednesday. Henley was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to an autopsy report, Henley died from asphyxiation secondary to crush injury to the chest.
The accident is under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
