The 7th annual Christmas At Red Bank concert will feature a lineup of talented local and regional musical artists performing traditional and not-so-traditional Christmas songs. First organized by local freelance writer and music critic Kevin Oliver in 2006 as a celebration of the season and a fundraiser for Lexington Interfaith Community Services, in past years the concert has included artists such as Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion, Mark Bryan of Hootie & the Blowfish, and Greg Humphreys of Dillon Fence and Hobex, along with a rotating cast of local artists who have made Christmas At Red Bank the unofficial kickoff to the holiday season for Columbia's musical community.
The lineup for this year's concert includes:
James Etheridge, Jr.
Prettier Than Matt (Jessica Skinner/Jeff Pitts)
Todd Mathis (American Gun)
Bentz and May Kirby
Matt Goudelock
Brent Lundy
Tom Coolidge
Michael Shull
Post-Timey String Band
Jeremy Scott (Right To Fall)
Brian Conner (Weaving the Fate)
Sea Wolf Mutiny
The “Best Of” CD of performances from the first three years will again be available in limited quantities at the concert, but it is also available online at www.christmasatredbank.bandcamp.com. A second online-only “Volume 2” is also available at that official site for streaming or purchase—all proceeds from downloads also go to Lexington Interfaith Community Services.
