
A Gaston man is in jail after deputies say he broke into a home and stole clothing, cash and electronics.Â
Dallas S. Gates, 21, of 142 Stagecoach Road in Gaston is charged with second-degree burglary, according to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.Â
Around 12 p.m. Thursday, deputies received a call about a burglary in progress at a home on Stagecoach Road, according to the sheriff's department. The citizen who called told deputies he heard glass breaking, wento the to home and found Gates leaving through the back door with items in his hands.Â

Deputies say Gates stole clothing, $20 in cash, two video game players and other electronic devices.Â
Gates ran away from the home when deputies arrived, according to the sheriff's department. A K-9 Unit deputy and his police dog tracked Gates to electrical power lines near the home and arrested him.Â

Gates is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
