Lexington Boys' Cross Country Team Wins State Title

The Wildcats took the top three spots in the race.

The Lexington High School boys' cross country team won its fourth straight state title Saturday in Columbia.

It was a dominating performance at the finish line, with the Wildcats taking the top three spots.

Junior Tony Morales (first, with a time of 15:25.28), junior Zach Langston (2nd, 15:35.42) and senior Blake White (3rd, 15:52.00) put Lexington in a dominating start to the race. Senior Erik Wendt finished 17th (16:26.73) and freshman Hunter Janus (40th, 17:01.23) rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats.

Lexington finished with 63 points, ahead of Mauldin (84 points), Wade Hampton (106), Wando (139) and Fort Mill (145). 

Pelion, meanwhile, finished seventh in AA.

The Panthers were led by junior Aubrey Hite, who finished 10th (17:16.26).
