Lexington Chamber Joins 'Harlem Shake' Dance Craze
Members danced the "Harlem Shake" to promote the chamber's fourth annual Oyster Roast.
Members of the Greater Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center have joined the “Harlem Shake” dance craze to promote an event that helps their community.
The event, Oyster Roast Down by the River, raises money to support education, quality of life improvements and regional advocacy for economic development.
This is the second dance video the Greater Lexington Chamber has released in six months.

“A 'Harlem Shake' video is a fun way to promote our Oyster Roast and showcase our businesses,” said Haylee Anderson, account executive for the chamber. “Our last video was so successful that many of our members wanted to participate in this one.”
Anderson produced both videos.

About 15 chabmer members participated in the new video, cavorting in costumes that represented their businesses. Many disguised themselves with paper fans bearing the image of Mayor Randy Halfacre’s face. Halfacre, who is also president and CEO of the chamber, participated in the video as well.
Less than a minute long, the video can be viewed above, on YouTube, on the chamber’s website, www.lexingtonsc.org, and on Facebook at facebook.com/LexingtonChamber.
Now in its fourth year, the Oyster Roast Down by the River is scheduled for March 28 at the Saluda River Club in Lexington. For tickets, contact Melanie Sandor at melanie@lexingtonsc.org or 803-359-6113, ext. 223.
