Lexington County Offers Pilot Bus Route for Lexington County Residents

The pilot bus route from downtown Columbia to Lexington's Red Bank Crossing runs every Monday through June 24.

Lexington County is making it easier for residents to get around by offering roundtrip service from downtown Columbia to Lexington's Red Bank Crossing.

Every Monday, A CMRTA bus travels to Lexington's Red Bank Crossing at 1070 S. Lake Dr., which houses the Lexington County Health Department, Department of Social Services, and Lexington‐Richland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council (LRADAC).

The pilot bus route operates every Monday with the exception of May 27, which is Memorial Day. The bus route runs through June 24.

The pilot bus route provides roundtrip service three times each Monday making stops in Cayce and West Columbia. The bus departs from the CMRTA’s Sumter Street transfer station every Monday at 8:15 a.m., 12  p.m., and 2:45 p.m. with four stops between the Transit Center and Red Bank Crossing.

  • Knox Abbott and State Streets 
  • 12th and Poplar Streets 

 

West Columbia

  • Sunset Boulevard and Craft Street 
  • West Hospital and North Hospital Drive (Lexington Medical Center) 

The Lexington County Pilot Bus Route is made possible through a collaboration between Lexington County, the cities of Cayce and West Columbia, Lexington Medical Center, and the Town of Springdale.
