Lexington Eighth-Grader with Cancer Recovers From Brain Surgery

Nathaniel Fournel's parents say doctors believe they removed all of the tumor on Nathaniel's brain.

Nathaniel Fournel, a Lexington middle-schooler with brain cancer, and his family received good news this week. 

Doctors who performed brain surgery on Nathaniel Wednesday believe they removed all of the tumor. 

Nathaniel's parents say his doctors are pleased with his post-surgery response.

"It was such a good feeling to have him grab both of our hands when we were at the bedside," Nathaniel's mom, Stephanie, wrote on his CaringBridge website. "He raised both arms, wiggled fingers and and toes, smiled, wrinkled his forehead, etc. He is responding well."

Nathaniel, who was diagnosed with brain cancer in December, traveled to New York with his parents last week to prepare for and undergo surgery.
