Lexington Girls' Cross Country Team Wins First State Title
The Wildcats won their first state title, while the Pelion girls team finished fourth in AA.

The Lexington High School girls' cross country team won its first 4A state title Saturday with a balanced attack.
The Wildcats were led by senior Meri Heneage (who finished 12th with a time of 19:11.07), sophomore Haylee Love (14th, 19:20.32), sophomore Katelin Killman (16th, 19:25.11), senior Bari Robinson (17th, 19:27.02) and junior Kaitlyn Keene (41st, 20:00.23).
Lexington, with a score of 100, finished better than Wade Hampton (109), Wando (111) and Riverside (123).

Pelion, meanwhile, finished fourth in AA, behind Landrum, Waccamaw and Bishop England.
Pelion's top finishers were senior Nevada Minard (who finished third overall with a time of 19:38.14), freshman Antoinette Fulton (4th, 19:39.68), junior Miyonta Mavins (18th, 21:20.20), freshman Madison Hill (25th, 21:41.73) and freshman Sammi Bullock (29th, 21:52.63).
