Lexington Man, 19, Dies in Wreck with Ambulance

The crash happened around 1:19 a.m. Tuesday.

A 19-year-old Lexington man died early Tuesday after he wrecked with an ambulance on Edmund Highway, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol. 

Jack D. Branham III died at the scene from head and body trauma, according to the Lexington County Coroner's Office.

Branham was driving his GMC truck westbound on the road around 1:19 a.m. when he swerved into the eastbound lane and struck the ambulance, Lance Cpl. Judd Jones said.

Branham was not wearing a seatbelt, Jones said. 

Ambulance driver Hugh Davis, 30, and his passenger, Samuel Potts, 26, were both wearing seatbelts and were not injured.

The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck.
