Nephron Pharmaceuticals to Start Hiring in Fall

Nephron Pharmaceuticals, a company building a $313 million plant in Lexington County, plans to start hiring in the fall, according to a report in The State. 

The 1.2 million square foot plant, which will be located outside of Cayce at the Saxe Gotha Industrial Park, should be open within a year, President and CEO Lou Kennedy told Leadership Columbia alumni during a luncheon, according to The State.

The manufacturer of respiratory medicine broke ground at the 60-acre site in March.

The opening of the plant will eventually bring an estimated 707 jobs to the county.
