Sale of Lexington's Barr Pond Up for Public Hearing
Town council will hold a public hearing and final reading on the sale of the property at Monday's meeting.
The Lexington Wildlife Chapter may be forced to find another home if Lexington Town Council approves the sale of Barr Pond to a housing developer at Monday's council meeting.
Town council will hold a public hearing on the sale of the pond, and then vote on the final reading of an ordinance authorizing the sale of the property.Â
The sale of the pond and the town's piece of property near the pond has caused a stir with members of the Lexington Wildlife Chapter who have used the area since 1955. The club cares for the pond and invites children and seniors to the area for educational tours.
