Setzler Holds on to District 26 Seat

Sen. Nikki Setzler will serve another term in District 26. 

Setzler, who has held the seat since 1976, received 60 percent (12,692) of Lexington County votes.

Deedee Vaughters received 40 percent (8,638) votes. 

The Republican candidate, who was back by Gov. Nikki Haley, said she was thankful for all the support she received throughout the camapign.

"I think we ran a good campaign. We certainly put everything we had out there."

The district stretches across parts of Lexington, Aiken, Calhoun and Saluda counties.
