White Knoll High Students Win Awards at State DECA Competition

Dozens of White Knoll students won first, second, third, fourth and fifth place awards.

White Knoll High DECA members studying marketing, management and entrepreneurship recently competed at the S.C. DECA State Career Development Conference.

White Knoll High students who won first place include: Caitlyn Alford, hospitality management; Whitney Blythe, travel and tourism management; Jordan Bowen, hospitality management; Sommer Cagle, international marketing; Michelle Corley, business services research; Trey Duncan, retail merchandising; Daniel Eichelberger, financial management; Taylor Lindner, automotive services marketing; Jaime Luevano, professional selling; Elizabeth McConnaughhay, travel and tourism management; Annie Owen, entrepreneurship business plan; Andrew Roof, international marketing; Brandon Shull, sports marketing promotion; and Nora Williams, entrepreneurship business plan.

Christina Bradshaw was elected as the Vice-President of Chapter Development for the 2013–2014 school year and also won second place in full service restaurant management. Other second place winners include: Brittany Buckner, entrepreneurship business plan; Sarah Caro, business services research; Billy Caughman, food marketing management; Tyler Clark, buying and merchandising research; Jake Phillips, entrepreneurship business plan; and Alia Wright, business in services research.

Third-place winners include: Nolan Byrd, buying and merchandising management; Caitlyn Michaelson, apparel and accessories marketing; Breyonna Miller, quick serve restaurant management; Dylan Roof, buying and merchandising management; and Kimberlee Wright, automotive services marketing.

Fourth place winners are Ebony Romero, human resources management and Sam Smith, business services marketing.

Fifth-place winners include: Taj Collins-Williams, sports marketing; Raven Mathis, sports marketing; Maya Washington, business services marketing; and Jassamyn Wise, marketing management.

Other students who placed in their competitions include: Alex Braziel, apparel and accessories marketing; Evan Davis , business services marketing; Madison Moody, quick serve restaurant management; Matti Smith, marketing communications; Sammi Tucker, marketing communications; and Neal Widener, financial management.
