Bachmann, fresh off her weekend win in the Iowa Straw Poll, began a three-day tour of South Carolina on Tuesday. The Republican congresswoman from Minnesota will speak in Mount Pleasant at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Bachmann created a minor stir in Spartanburg on Tuesday when she referenced that it was Elvis Presley’s birthday, when it was actually the anniversary of his death.

She corrected herself at a later stop in Greenville and otherwise stayed on her message of reducing government spending.

"Fiscal conservatives, I'm one of those. National security conservatives, I'm one of those. Social conservatives, I'm one of those," Bachmann said. "And the Tea Party, I'm one of those.”

Bachmann spoke in Spartanburg and Greenville on Tuesday and will address supporters in Columbia and Florence on Thursday. On Friday, she’ll stump in Myrtle Beach before appearing in Mount Pleasant.

The local appearance is being hosted by the Charleston County Republican Party.

This is Bachmann’s second stop in the Lowcountry. She in late June, just days after her official entry into the Presidential race. That stop on Daniel Island attracted several hundred spectators.
