Carnival Passengers Arrested on Pot Charges

Georgia women arrested in Bermuda for smuggling marijuana resin.

Two Georgia women who traveled to Bermuda last week aboard the Charleston-based Carnival Fantasy, have been arrested on charges they conspired to smuggle marijuana resin, according to the Royal Gazette newspaper.

Two American women were remanded in custody yesterday on charges they conspired to import more than $400,000 of cannabis resin.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded both defendants into custody until October 25

The newspaper reported that Alloah Jatan Releford, from Temple, Ga., and Latoya Nicole Powell, 27, from Marietta, Ga., were arrested.
