Mount Pleasant Town Council will hold its December meeting Tuesday at auditorium. Beginning at 6:30 p.m. the mayor and council will enjoy a holiday performance and the National Anthem by the Wando High School Orchestra, directed by Derek Deakins. Also present will be the Wando ROTC Color Guard. The special performance by the Wando High School Orchestra will be followed by the regular Council Meeting at 7 p.m. The council has a light agenda. It will vote on two annexations and two zoning issues, according to its agenda. Councilmen will consider investing most of its liquid cash in the South Carolina Local Government Investment Pool. The move is meant to save money. Commercial banks actually charge the town to handle its interest-bearing checking accounts because governments require extra insurance against financial losses.
