County Announces Board Vacancies

County council asking for applicants.

Charleston County Council announces the following vacancies on boards and commissions:

Awendaw Consolidated Fire District

Four vacancies

Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments
One vacancy for a minority candidate

Business License/User Fee Appeals Board
Five vacancies for applicants with strong financial background

Saint Andrews Parks and Playground Commission
Two vacancies, applicants must reside in Saint Andrews Public Service District

Accommodation Tax Advisory Committee
Seven vacancies, applicants must reside in unincorporated Charleston County and preference will be given to those residing in unincorporated West Ashley and Johns Island.

Charleston County Council encourages citizens of Charleston County who are willing to volunteer to serve on one of these important boards to submit an application for appointment. Applications will be considered by County Council’s Administration Policy and Rules Committee at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011. The committee is comprised of five members of Charleston County Council. The committee will make recommendations to fill these vacancies to full Council and County Council will vote on those recommendations at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011.
