Crab House Closes Mount Pleasant Location

The Charleston Crab House in Mount Pleasant closed over the weekend, according to the Post and Courier.

Open since 1999, the local seafood chain faced tough prospects as the economy, competition and highway construction chipped away at business, the manager told the newspaper.

"With the road construction and the economic downturn, it's been a tough year over there," Keener said. "Being a seafood restaurant that's not on the water, it's hard to compete."
