Free Pancakes Today at IHOP

Each customer gets a free shortstack of pancakes, and the restaurant is taking donations for MUSC Children's Hospital

Who doesn't love pancakes?

Well on Tuesday everyone who eats at an will be treated to a free shortstack of buttermilk pancakes. It's the chain's way of celebrating National Pancake Day, and in addition to the free flapjacks, IHOP is asking customers to make a donation to the Children's Miracle Network, which locally goes to the MUSC Children's Hospital.

"Last year, at our store alone we had about $1,000," West Ashley IHOP Shift Manager Tanner Hanes said. "We have a donation box at the register and ask customers to give a little to MUSC Children's Hospital."

The promotion runs 7 a.m. - 10 p.m., and Hanes said customers should be ready to wait a little while because so many people take advantage of the free pancakes.

"I've never seen anyone wait more than an hour," Hanes said. "We try to keep our wait time down to 30 minutes."

"It's a big day," Hanes said. "We always have people waiting until about 5:30 in the afternoon."
