First supports for bridge over Bowman Road installed overnight.

Four support beams, which will form the first supports for the Johnnie Dodd Boulevard overpass over Bowman Road, were installed Monday night.

In all, nine support beams will go up before concrete is poured to form the roadway. The steel beams, 160 feet long, weighing 60 tons each, were moved in place by three large cranes.

Bowman Road will continue to be closed at Johnnie Dodds Tuesday evening as the final five support beams are installed.
