
Patriots Point will now close Jan. 22 for one week to make way for the storied USS Laffey to return from a $9 million repair process, according to the Post and Courier.
The Naval and maritime museum had planned to close Monday for a week so crews could bust up a segment of its main pier, but scheduling conflicts prevented the closure, the newspaper reports.

Patriots Point is moving the Laffey to a spot currently occupied by the Submarine Clamagore. That vessell, like the Laffey and the USS Yorktown, will soon need repairs.
