
A civilian Mount Pleasant resident working as a contractor in Afghanistan was kidnapped and killed, according to an Associated Press report.
James W. "Will" Coker was working as a civilian in Afghanistan with the U.S. Army Corps, the AP reported.
Officials and family confirmed Tuesday that he was the person killed.

An official who spoke with The Associated Press on condition of anonymity said Coker was kidnapped from a power plant where he was working and later strangled.
