Update: Officer Released from Hospital
Officer was pursuing 'reckless' motorist when he crashed his cruiser.

The Charleston County Sheriff is investigating a single-vehicle accident that injured a Mount Pleasant police officer early this morning.
It happened around 2:15 a.m., police say. That's when the officer was trying to pursue a reckless motorist in wet conditions inside the Charleston National subdivision.
"The officer was maneuvering his vehicle in an attempt to initiate a traffic stop on a suspect who was operating in a reckless and dangerous manner in the area," wrote Capt. Stan Gragg, police spokesman, in a nes release. "The officer lost control of his vehicle and collided into a wooden bridge."
