Pearl Harbor Vet Speaks on 70th Anniversary of Attack

Donald Ralph says he attends memorials to pay respects to his fallen comrades.

Several hundred people turned out to Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant for a memorial on the 70th anniversay of the Attacks on Pearl Harbor.

Four veterans who saw combat just after the attacks attended the ceremony. Now in their late 80s or 90s, the men said the ceremony was their way to memorialize their fellow soldiers.

The event included a bell-ringing ceremony for the 25 South Carolina soldiers who died at Pearl Harbor as well as a ceremonial wreath laying in which veterans and ROTC cadets threw pine wreaths into Charleston Harbor.
