PF Chang's Nears Opening
Chain plans Oct. 3 opening as other retailers flock to Towne Centre.

Chinese eatery P.F. Chang’s will enter the Charleston market with an October 3 opening in the Mount Pleasant Towne Centre.
The Arizona-based chain operates more than 200 restaurants across the country. It serves an upscale Chinese-American menu that reimagines staid Chinese dishes in a gourmet fashion.
Large stone horses, which stand at the entrance to most PF Chang’s, are the restaurants’ signature. The Mount Pleasant horse was installed in the last few weeks, and interior work is ongoing as the restaurant begins hiring its staff, said Kristi Tolley, Towne Centre spokeswoman.

The chain’s arrival at Towne Centre falls just after yogurt-seller TCBY opened a store in the Hwy. 17 retail complex.
“We are thrilled about the changes that are happening at the Towne Centre,” Tolley said.

Aussie Outfitters also recently opened in Towne Centre. The retailer sells Charleston themed T-shirts, bathing suits, dresses, board shorts, sunglasses and beach accessories.
Women’s accessory retailer Versona will open in early November. Though this will be the chains fifth location, it is a completely new company. It will occupy a 7,500-square-foot space, Tolley said.
Ann Taylor plans a September 30 opening and will hold a grand opening October 8.
“This is a concept store, so they will have a many different key items than their other two stores, LOFT and Ann Taylor downtown,” Tolley said.
