Pizza Maker Heads to Towne Centre
Grimaldi's has acclaimed reputation elsewhere; Opening first South Carolina restaurant in Mount Pleasant this spring.

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, known for their award-winning hand-tossed, coal-fired brick oven pizzas and calzones, will locate in Mount Pleasant Towne Centre.
Opening late this spring, the new eatery will fill a 4,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Benito’s Restaurant at 1244 Belk Drive. Grimaldi's will have space for 150 guests, according to a Towne Centre news release.
"Our team searches the country for the best restaurant sites, and we’re excited about opening within the Mount Pleasant Towne Centre property,” said Joey Ciolli, president and chief executive officer of Grimaldi's Pizzeria.

The expansion into Mount Pleasant is the pizza chain's first forray into South Carolina. But while it's new here, Grimaldi’s claims to have garnered more awards than any other pizzeria in the country.
Using only the freshest ingredients, a secret recipe pizza sauce, handmade mozzarella cheese and dough, Grimaldi’s serves traditional pizza, as it began in Naples, Italy, in an upscale yet casual, family oriented pizzeria, according to the news release.

Designed and built by hand, the coal-fired oven at Grimaldi’s Pizzeria delivers a unique flavor and consistency.
Grimaldi’s Pizzeria currently has twenty-seven locations across the U.S., including Texas, Nevada, Florida, Arizona and its flagship stores in New York City.
