Mom Calls Police for Present Being Opened Too Soon
It’s a rule that is perhaps as old as the practice of placing presents under the tree: Don’t open gifts before Dec. 25.
It is, however, not against the law. But one Mount Pleasant mom decided to call the cops when her son opened his video game nearly three weeks before Christmas.

She was angry when she came home and found her 20-year-old son playing with a video game that was meant as a Christmas present, the report states.
Officers told the mom there wasn’t much police could do to help in the situation since no crimes were committed.

Pizza Restaurant Robbed
Police are searching for an armed robbery suspect after a long-time employee of Giuseppi’s Pizza was held up Dec. 5, according to reports.
The employee told officers he was disposing of trash behind the Ben Sawyer Boulevard business when he turned around and was met face-to-face with a knife-wielding man who demanded money.
The employee said he has the same routine every day and that many people know that he does not use a bank, since he’s an immigrant, the report states.
The suspect and the employee got into a fistfight, and the victim had some bloody scrapes, according to the report, but his injuries are not life-threatening. The suspect got away with the man’s wallet and fled toward Sullivan’s Island.
‘Most Wanted’ Ohio Man Arrested Here
A man wanted in the Cincinnati area for burglary, unlawful restraint and unpaid child support was apparently hiding out in Mount Pleasant, according to reports.
Officers arrested Richard Nicholas Enderle, 36, on Dec. 9 after Butler County, Ohio, Sheriff’s deputies informed officers here that Enderle had taken up residence on Pleasant Pines Drive.
Officers brought the SWAT team to bring Enderle out of the house, because he had previous violent-crime arrests, according to the report. The arrest went down peacefully, and Ohio authorities agreed to transport Enderle back to their state to answer to his charges.
Man Goes to Jail for Firing Gun
A 23-year-old Mount Pleasant man went to jail after he fired a gun to get a man to leave his property, according to a report.
Wayne Maurice Lee Jr. was charged with discharging a firearm inside town limits, but he told officers he simply fired his gun in the ground to end an argument.
He said he didn’t point the 9 mm gun at the man, but he admitted it was “stupid” to fire the gun inside the town limits, according to the report.
Woman Goes to Jail After Calling Cops on Husband
A Mount Pleasant woman faces criminal domestic violence charges, but she was the one who called police in the first place, according to a report.
The 28-year-old woman called police to report her husband for domestic violence, the report states. She said her husband was drunk and had hit her.
But officers could only find evidence that the woman had been violent against her husband following a dispute over who should pick up pizza that night, according to the report.
The woman went to jail and her husband got the house to himself that night. No word on whether he got any pizza.
