Pot Found in Teacher’s Restroom
Someone has been doing a little more than resting while in the teachers’ restroom at a local preschool.
On Dec. 16, an administrator at Gateway Academy reported to police that she had found what appeared to be marijuana in the teachers’ restroom, according to a police report.

Officers found “a brown-colored burned cigarette” that tested positive for marijuana, the report states. No one at the school knew who had apparently left the drugs behind, the report states.
Police secured the cigarette into evidence.

Newspaper Carrier Reports Carjacking
A Post and Courier newspaper carrier reported to police that as she was delivering papers a man tried to enter her passenger-side door as he reached for what she thought was a weapon.
The woman sped away from the scene and called police, according to an incident report. But according to the apparent suspect, the whole thing was a mix-up.
He told officers that he had just been informed that he was being granted a lucrative recording contract and that the third car that passed him would be a woman with a contract for him to sign.
It wasn’t clear if officers charged the man with any crime.
Man Shot but Refuses to Give Police Details
Mount Pleasant police received reports on Dec. 19 that a 23-year-old Wando man was in the hospital with a gunshot wound, but police didn’t get many details when they questioned the apparent victim, according to reports.
The man had a large gunshot wound to his upper arm and he had significant wounds to his head, along with bleeding and swelling, the report states. The man told officers the attack occurred somewhere along Clements Ferry Road.
The victim’s mother, however, told officers the attack occurred outside their home in Wando. Mount Pleasant police were informed that Berkeley County authorities are investigating the incident.
Missing Reindeer Reported
Two decorative Christmas reindeer were recently reported stolen, and police had a short trip to find the stolen holiday decorations.
The Brickyard resident reported the metal, mechanical reindeer were discovered missing on Dec. 18. Police took a quick spin around the block and found the dismantled reindeer less than 10 yards from the house in a neighbor’s driveway.
Police are still investigating the incident.
