ReVille is 'Remorseful' and Cooperating

Police say accused coach and principal led them to latest sex-crime victims and has cooperated thus far.

The Mount Pleasant coach and school principal accused of molesting no less than five teenage boys is "extremely remorseful," said Craig Jones, the suspect's attorney in a courthouse press conference posted on WCBD-TV.

On Thursday, Louis Scott ReVille was officially charged with two additional counts of committing a lewd act upon a child under 16 years old. The new charges represent two new victims, said Mount Pleasant Police Capt. Amy McCarthy.

"Hopefully the way he has cooperated ... that is one way he is showing that he can somewhat help the family members in some small way," Jones said. "There's obviously no way that he can repair the damage that's been done."

McCarthy confirms that ReVille, once questioned by police, has been cooperative with detectives. Arrest warrants indicate he admitted in writing to roughly 50 sexual encounters with the first set of three victims.

A team of detectives uncovered these latest two victims, but ReVille assisted in finding those victims, McCarthy said.

"We found them both through his confessions and through our investigations," McCarthy said.

Police are combing through ReVille's past, and more charges could be filed, McCarthy said.

"We're looking at previous employers and conducting a lot of follow up with the victims," she said.

Police have said previously that ReVille's work with nearly a dozen schools, churhces and athletic programs gave him access to hundreds of youngsters across the Lowcountry.

On Thursday, Judge Linda Lombard upped ReVille's bond by $400,000. ReVille had not yet posted the money and remains held in the jail.

The Post and Courier on Thursday revealed that ReVille was once a foster parent. Now the Department of Social Services has launched an investigation into his care of several youths. Read the full story.
