
is the scene for this weekend’s 40th Annual Charleston Scottish Games.
Sponsored by the Scottish Society of Charleston, the two-day event features one of the largest piping and drumming competitions in the South. That’s in addition to other live music, strength competitions, a dog show, food and arts and crafts.
Of course, there's a pole throwing competition and plenty of bagpipe and snare-drum playing.

Adult admission is $17 in advance and $20 at the gate. Tickets for children ages 6 to 12 are $4 in advance and $5 at the gate. Children 5 and under are admitted at no charge. Advanced tickets are sold at , downtown Charleston and Summerville.
Public events on Saturday start at 8 a.m. and run until 5 p.m. A church service is offered Sunday morning from 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
