Town Plans Fire Training Building

Council presses ahead with $430,000 building.

Mount Pleasant is set to build a $432,000 fire department training building that will allow firefighters to simulate real-life fire scenarios.

Council members voted Wednesday morning in a committee meeting to accept a bid to construct the building at the town’s fire training facility.

“It’s a multi-story building … with a heat room where you can simulate realistic scenarios,” said Charlie Potts, the town’s chief financial officer. “It will allow them to simulate realistic situations … with interior and exterior attacks.”
