Update: FAA says Dewees crash involved flying boat
Vehicle is designated as a 'light sport aircraft'
The Federal Aviation Administration said this morning the crash that killed two on Dewees Island Wednesday evening involved a "light sport aircraft."
First descriptions of the craft described it as a inflatable raft with a parasailing wing attached. FAA Spokeswoman Kathleen Berger said inspectors have determind the craft is essentially a flying boat like the sort sold by Aliseo.
The FAA has a document that provides more information on light sport aircraft.
