Yorktown Goes Pink for Breast Cancer
Aircraft carrier honors cancer victims and survivors.

They say it's hard hard to make a sailor blush, but on Thursday, the USS Yorktown at got all rosy-pink for a good cause.
On the Navy's 236th birthday, Patriots Point turned the historic aircraft carrier pink to honor breast cancer victims and survivors, writes Waring Hills in his latest Patriots Point blog post.
This could be a another first for the Yorktown and aircraft carriers…and particularly appropriate for this historic ship. Sponsors for all Navy ship christenings are women, ships are known as “she” and the Yorktown’s christening sponsor was none less than the First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt, Hills wrote.
