Here are the top three stories today in Myrtle Beach:
- The Myrtle Beach City Council has terminated its agreement with Horry County on two local campgrounds. The agreement was signed in 2004 that split the proceeds for Lakewood Camping Resort and PirateLand Camping Resort. The two entities have been battling in court for nearly two years over the agreement. (Myhorrynews)
- 23-year-old Quandre Tyson, of Pageland, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his involvement in a 2020 Myrtle Beach shootout. The incident occurred on Ocean Boulevard when two rival groups encountered each other. Eight individuals were arrested during the investigation. (Charleston Post Courier)
- The Myrtle Beach City Council has voted to temporarily halt business permit fees. The suspension will last through Nov. 13. The suspension is meant to support local businesses while they repair after Hurricane Ian. Local businesses incurred nearly $1.667 million in damages due to the hurricane. (Myhorrynews)
