Here are the top three stories in Myrtle Beach today:

  1. The Myrtle Beach City Council has approved the final reading for the $292 million budget for FY23, which means if you own property in Myrtle Beach, your property tax may be going up soon. The budget approved by the City Council includes increases in property tax, stormwater fees, and parking fees. The extra influx of money will help to pay for 47 new positions in the city, many of which will focus on public safety. (WMBF)
  2. On Tuesday, the Horry County Coroner's Office announced the body of a missing swimmer was found washed ashore near 54th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach. Yannick Dbumeni-Ndaleu, a 21 from Silver Spring, Maryland, went missing Monday around 3:20 p.m. after helping another swimmer pull his son from a rip current near 7th Avenue North. (Myhorrynews)
  3. On Monday night, a Kia Soul crashed into a building in Myrtle Beach and resulted in one person being hospitalized. According to the Myrtle Beach Fire Department, units from three different stations responded to the call. The building was secured by companies on the scene. (WMBF)
