Here are the top three stories in Myrtle Beach today:
- Dozens of protesters marched through the Market Common area of Myrtle Beach this weekend demanding stricter gun control, chanting "Enough is enough!" The march was part of more than 400 nationwide "March for Our Lives" rallies, which were organized in the wake of multiple mass shootings that have taken place in recent months. The Myrtle Beach march was coordinated by Grand Strand Action Together and Moms Demand Action. (wpde.com)
- One person was hurt in a motorcycle crash at 9600 Highway 707 on Saturday evening, according to Horry County Fire Rescue. The incident also reportedly involved a gas pump near the intersection of Holmestown Road and Timberlake Drive. The person involved was taken to a nearby hospital, but no further details on their identity or condition have been released at this time. (WMBF)
- A lightning storm didn't stop the final performances of the four-day Carolina Country Music Fest this weekend. On Sunday afternoon around 1:15 p.m., festivalgoers were reportedly asked to "leave the grounds and seek shelter" after lightning was detected within 6 miles of the venue. A little over an hour later, the grounds reopened and the rest of the festival's lineup resumed. (WBTW)
