• Unfounded: Ninety Six Mayor Gregg Brown requested SLED investigate former employee (indexjournal.com) — Ninety Six’s mayor asked SLED to investigate a former town treasurer over alleged insurance irregularities, but state agents ultimately closed the case as unfounded. Their report cites missing town records, conflicting policy language on dependent coverage, and a lack of supporting evidence for the accusations. The town has also not fully answered FOIA requests about a 2019 audit.
