Donations pour in for Upstate families displaced by fire (wspa.com) — Simpsonville families displaced by the December 4 apartment fire are getting major community support, with donations pouring into Simpsonville Fire Station 2 and Renovation Church. City council members and firefighters are still seeking volunteers to sort items and especially need backpacks for six affected children, as eight families work to rebuild just weeks before the holidays. 
2. TALK Greenville 2026 Community and Charitable Events Calendar (greenvilleonline.com) — One of 2026’s biggest charity events for locals is a three-day Ride to End ALZ cycling trek that starts in Simpsonville’s CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park and finishes in Charleston. The packed Greenville-area calendar also features festivals, runs, concerts, galas, volunteer drives, and family activities almost every month, giving you dozens of ways to give back, get involved, and explore nearby communities.
3. Judson Mill Honored; Bon Secours Expands; Habitat Builds - In The Know 12-14 (greenvilleonline.com) — A new general manager at Greenville’s Hotel Hartness once served on the Simpsonville Chamber of Commerce board, tying this luxury property’s leadership back to your community. The broader roundup highlights major Upstate developments, including Judson Mill’s top architecture award, Bon Secours’ new Powdersville medical campus, and promotions and hires at several Greenville-area banks, nonprofits, and real estate firms.
4. USC student one of two killed in crash day after her birthday, officials say (thestate.com) — A 20-year-old Simpsonville resident and USC student, Adriana Torres-Lopez, was killed in a wrong-way, head-on crash on I-385 in Laurens County just a day after her birthday. Officials say she died at the scene along with the other driver, and both the Laurens County Coroner’s Office and Highway Patrol are still investigating why one vehicle was traveling the wrong way.
