Immanuel Lutheran Church-Five Forks (2820 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville) will dedicate its new sanctuary at 1:00 pm on June 23, 2024.

It’s a celebration that has been 38 years in the making. With an original sanctuary that also served as a multipurpose room, it’s long been the plan as the congregation grew to build our new church. β€œUnless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it;” Psalm 127:1a NKJV

Immanuel Lutheran Church was founded as a mission congregation in 1986, was received in membership to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in 1988, and built its current facility in 1991. In 1994, the church’s mission was expanded to include a Christian preschool, which today serves over 100 children in grades K1-K4.

In April 2021, the congregation, having outgrown its 30-year-old building, decided it was time to build the sanctuary, associated support spaces, and to refurbish the existing facilities to support Fellowship and School needs. Funds were raised from the sale of part of the church property, a Capital Campaign, and a grant from the Lasko Foundation, leading up to the groundbreaking on September 24, 2023.

"We have been the recipients of God's handiwork since our planting in the Five Forks community,” said Rev. Jeff VanOsdol, Immanuel’s pastor for nearly 20 years. β€œOur prayer is that we be grateful stewards of God's many blessings, especially this most recent one, as we shine the light of His Son from our campus across the Greenville landscape."

In addition to the new sanctuary and support spaces, the church has installed a 24-rank MΓΆller pipe organ, donated to Immanuel by the Presbytery of Charlotte (NC). The organ was removed from the former Plaza Presbyterian Church that closed in June 2022.

The community is invited to share our joy in this dedication and in regular worship Sundays at 8:00 & 10:30 am with Bible study at 9:15 am.
