UPDATE: Simpsonville Man Dies After Boat Capsizes
Coroner's office identifies victim.
Update, Sunday, June 23: The Greenville County Coroner's Office identified the man who died Saturday after a boat capsized on Lake Hartwell as 58-year-old Carl Dickerson of Simpsonville.
An autopsy showed that Dickerson, who had a pre-existing history of cardiac issues, died as a result of a coronary event.
His manner of death was classified as natural.
Original report: A Simpsonville man is dead after a boat capsized Saturday at Lake Hartwell.
According to WYFF, the boat capsized in Martin Creek in Oconee County around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The story said the man went in to cardiac arrest and was transported to AnMed where he later died.
The man's name has not been released, but was expected to be released Sunday morning.
