Convicted Terrorist, Former Charleston Prisoner to be Resentenced

Jose Padilla is currently serving a 17-year sentence in Colorado.

A member of al-Qaida who was behind a terrorism plot that never materialized in Chicago who was held in a Charleston Navy brig for three years before being charged will soon have a new day in court.

Jose Padilla is currently serving a 17-year sentence for terrorist support and conspiracy, but federal officials have won a resentencing, which will be held Dec. 3.

Padilla has alleged numerous times that he was tortured while being held at Charleston's Navy base as an enemy combatant prior to indictment.
