3. 21-year-old charged in fatal Summerville apartment shooting (postandcourier.com) — A 21-year-old Summerville man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after a shooting that left another Summerville resident dead outside the Kilnsea Village apartments in North Charleston. Police say an officer living nearby discovered the wounded man, attempted life-saving measures, and later identified the suspect, who remains in Dorchester County jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
   

4. SCHSL releases classification placement for 2026-2027 school year (wyff4.com) — Summerville High will remain in Class 5A and ranks second statewide in enrollment under the South Carolina High School League’s new 2026–27 classifications, which shape athletic competition for two years. Local schools like Ashley Ridge, Cane Bay, Fort Dorchester, Stratford, and others also receive updated placements that will determine future region alignments and travel.
   

5. Around SC (postandcourier.com) — A Summerville man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after another Summerville resident was fatally shot outside a North Charleston apartment complex, according to police.
