Microquake Shimmies Dorchester Road in Summerville

U.S. Geological Survey reports a 1.4 magnitude earthquake Wednesday evening.

Perhaps Wednesday night's microquake rocked you to sleep if you live off of Dorchester Road near Gerald's Tire, just south of Ladson Road.

The 1.4 magnitude earthquake — also known as a microquake — shimmied the area just after 10 p.m. Wednesday. Microquakes are rarely felt beyond 5 miles from the epicenter. The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake.

The quake came from the Middleton fault, which is off to an active start in 2013.
